Too often, in the name of progress, the unique character and flavor of San Diego's historic neighborhoods have been lost in a frenzy to build as fast as possible. And, too often, that process does not include or involve the established residents.

That is not the case with Comm22. Since June of 2003, the team has been meeting with local residents (both homeowners and renters), business owners and employees, and grassroots community groups, as well as with established community organizations, churches and committees, including government entities. Comm22 was programmed, designed and structured based on this inclusive process of soliciting feedback and input through these meetings and presentations.

Comm22 is truly a catalyst for invigorating San Diego's established neighborhoods. It is the collaboration of three organizations with long histories of delivering on their promises and making good on their word. They are dedicated to building an authentic community where all generations are welcome and no one is excluded. They are providing much needed housing, services and opportunities that will enhance a community rich in culture and vitality.
